SPRING EQUINOX
Spring is on its way, and once the Spring, or Vernal Equinox happens, there is
no turning back from a season of rebirth, renewal, and growth. The sun will be exactly above the equator in its path through the sky, and day and night will be about the same length. After the equinox the days become longer and longer. HOORAY!!!
The time for reflecting and visioning which occurred since the winter solstice
has ended and its time for action!!!. The equinox is the perfect time for
planting seeds of your own on the path of your life. New ventures may be
aided by the spirit of life and growth that abound.
Rituals and traditions during this time have their roots in Pagan belief and practices. As in the past the Spring Equinox is a celebration of the return of
life and growth in nature and in our life. Many people decorate eggs at this time with symbols of fertility. Fairies abound and you might invite a few to
celebrate the Equinox with you.
It also celebrates the return of the Maiden Goddess(from the underworld
according to Greek mythology), and the young life energy she brings with her.
Some celebrations recognize the strength (physical or emotional) of women
and young women.
This is the time of year when all is new and possible. If you have not been
following the yearly cycle in your own life, (See other solstice/equinox articles
at www.stonehavenwellness.com ) now is an ideal time to break the last
of the chains that may halt your growth.
